We accept referrals from a variety of organisations including jobcentres, housing associations, training providers, charities, apprenticeship providers and community centres.

If you are a client and would like to book an appointment with us, please contact your work coach and ask to be referred to Smart Works. To find out more about what to expect from a Smart Works appointment, there is lots more information here.

How do I refer to Smart Works Birmingham?

Staff from a referral partner organisation can call us on 0121 643 8109 or email us [link: birmingham@smartworks.org.uk]. We require at least 24 hours’ notice before an appointment.

We will need from you:

  •   Name, phone number and email of the client you’d like to refer to our service
  •   Details of what interview they have secured and interview date

For career coaching we ask for client name and contact details to book their Zoom coaching session. Career coaching is for unemployed women to help them get closer to securing a job interview.

When you contact us, we will book the client in at a suitable time for her and details will be emailed to confirm her appointment.

We ask clients to bring their CV and the job description (for interview support) to their appointment with us.

Please note that we do not take self-referrals. If you are not sure who can refer you to our service, please get in touch and we may be able to help you.
